Bridging climate and educational planning: lessons from Cambodia and Malawi
As countries advance their climate commitments through National Adaptation Plans (NAPs), Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), and other strategic policy and planning frameworks, the role of education in fostering climate adaptation and environmental sustainability is increasingly recognized, yet often insufficiently leveraged. This webinar will explore how education can be systematically integrated into national climate planning to strengthen adaptation, environmental sustainability, and long-term sustainable development goals.
Drawing on the experiences of Cambodia and Malawi, the webinar will showcase practical examples of how Ministries of Education are engaging in climate policy processes and contributing to national climate goals.
This webinar is taking place as part of the Climate Smart Education Systems Initiative (CSESI), which is funded by the Global Partnership for Education and implemented by UNESCO, IIEP, and Save the Children. Launched in 2023, CSESI will reach 35 of the most climate-vulnerable countries by 2026.
