Currently, Alejandra Cardini is the Acting Head of Office and Coordinator of the Knowledge Generation and Mobilization team at the IIEP-UNESCO Office for Latin America and the Caribbean. She leads various areas and programmes of the office, developing strategic alliances and managing human and financial resources. She is also responsible for the knowledge production and dissemination strategy through the development of research and the Information System on Educational Trends in Latin America (SITEAL), the Regional Forum on Educational Policy, and the Network of Specialists in Educational Policy.

She has extensive experience in research projects, advisory roles, and educational policy advocacy. She served as the Director of the Education Programme at the Centre for the Implementation of Public Policies for Equity and Growth (CIPPEC) and led the education theme in Think 20, a G20 affinity group focused on public policy recommendations, from 2018 to 2022. She conducted research at the University of Buenos Aires, the University of San Andrés, and the Centre for Critical Education Policy Research (University of London). She worked for the Ministry of Education of the Argentine Republic, collaborating with provincial ministries on educational planning. As a teacher, she has taught at the primary level and, as a professor, in master's programmes in educational policy (at the Institute of Education, University of London; Universidad Alberto Hurtado in Santiago de Chile; the Inter-Institutional Doctorate in Education [UNTREF, UNLA, and UNSAM]; Universidad de San Andrés; and Universidad Austral).

She holds a Primary School Teacher qualification from the Escuela Normal Superior en Lenguas Vivas Sofía Esther Broquen de Spangenberg.

Currently, Fernanda Luna is the Deputy Coordinator of Knowledge Generation and Mobilization at the IIEP-UNESCO Office for Latin America and the Caribbean. Her responsibilities include supporting team management, as well as coordinating and supervising research studies, the Information System on Educational Trends in Latin America (SITEAL), the Regional Forum on Educational Policy, and other customised studies conducted by the Institute.

She has an extensive background in public educational management. In Argentina, she has worked in technical government teams, such as the Directorate of Public Expenditure Analysis and Social Programmes at the Ministry of Economy, and in the Undersecretariat of Inclusion and Equity at the Ministry of Education of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. From 2008 to 2019, she worked in the General Coordination of Cost Studies of the Educational System at the Ministry of Education, where she monitored and analysed education investment, costed educational programmes and plans, and participated in designing instruments for the equitable allocation of educational resources. Additionally, she has been a consultant for international organisations such as UNDP, UNICEF, and IDB, focusing on education economics and educational policies.

Antes he sido Especialista de Políticas Sociales de la Oficina de UNICEF en Bolivia, y Especialista Adjunto del Instituto de Estadísticas de UNESCO en el equipo regional de América Latina y el Caribe. Previo a comenzar mi carrera dentro de Naciones Unidas, me he desempeñado en el Ministerio de Educación de Argentina, en la Unidad de Planeamiento Estratégico y Evaluación de la Educación Argentina y en el Programa de Educación del Centro de Implementación de Políticas Públicas para la Equidad y el Crecimiento (CIPPEC).
Soy Licenciado en Economía de la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba y Magister en Políticas Públicas de la Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, ambas de Argentina.

Sociologist, Master in Educational Research and Development, both at Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City. Educational researcher since 1970. She has published more than 400 articles, chapters and books on the quality of education, adult education, values education and intercultural education. She founded and was General Coordinator for Intercultural and Bilingual Education in the Education Ministry in Mexico. She chaired the governing board of the Centre for Educational Research and Innovation of the OECD. She received the Joan Amos Comenius Medal from the Czech Republic and UNESCO for her contributions to education in 2008. She was head of the Research Institute for the Development of Education at Universidad Iberoamericana. She chaired the governing board of the now extinct National Institute for the Evaluation of Education. 

She is an honorary fellow of UIL and has received three honorary PhDs. She served as Academic Vice President of Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. She served as co-chair of the International Expert Group on SDGs in Higher Education, convened by UNESCO to write the report "Knowledge-Driven Actions: Transforming Higher Education for Global Sustainability." Currently, she serves as an Honorary Researcher at Universidad Iberoamericana and coordinates the Chair on Educational Justice, which bears her name.

Pablo Torche es psicólogo educacional (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile) y magíster en Literatura Inglesa (Universidad de Londres). Se desempeña como consultor en educación y director de estudios en EDECSA, consultora especializada en evaluación de política educativa.

Ha trabajado para el desarrollo del Plan de Aseguramiento de Calidad Educativa del Ministerio de Educación de Chile (2016), para el Marco para la gestión y liderazgo educativo local (2017) y para el desarrollo de los Estándares Indicativos de Desempeño (2013). También fue investigador responsable para la evaluación de importantes programas y sistemas de gestión educativa, entre otros proyectos para PNUD, UNESCO, ministerios de Educación, entre otras instituciones.
